Our beloved ( O_o ) HDX company released a mini media player a few months ago. I manage to use it for a while so here my experience with the machine.
There is a much needed category for media players which is the minis. I am surprise company are not releasing more powerful ones (able to play full Bluray rips).
HDX Bone was a potential mini player that had the bell and whistles to interest me. Able to have android as a operating system and play high end MKV (720p to 1080p) would have made this player a god send for travelers.
We be starting with a new review categories, “Quickie Reviews” a not so in depth review of media players. As I do touch and play with many media players but sometimes do not have the time to do a full review this quickie review will help me, with my thoughts on the players that I have come across. Maybe when I do have more time and I will upgrade that review to a higher in depth review.
Anyway starting the ball rolling first quickie review will start with the Egreat A1080 media player. Using the Sigmadesign8643 667MHz CPU, 256MB NAND FLASH and 512MB DDR2.
Consumer Reports recently evaluated 14 3D TV models and found that plasma TVs are better at displaying 2D images than LCD sets. One of the key reasons behind this is that plasma displays exhibit less ghosting when wearing 3D glasses. However in order to read the full report you probably need to pay for the magazine or the website access.
Here is the consumer report blog site with some info of their research.
