HDI Dune network remote control

by on Jan.03, 2011, under Reviews

Dune finally release a a remote control application on the iPhone and iPAD with whom we are able to control the players over the network. Of course the dune must be connected to your network with tcp/ip, same goes with your iPhone and iPad.

Dune Remote App

After you download the new beta firmware available for download at the official manufacturer’s site: and installed it to the Dune player, open the app on your iPhone/iPad.

Updating firmware

You be able to see three screens caps of you remote and it will actually work when you click on them.  Somehow this helps me a lot since the infra red remote for the dune prime 3.0 interferes with my panasonic air con.

Dune 3rd page remote app

You do need to know you dune player ip address so that you can key into the app settings.

Key in your dune ip here to detect your dune player

Another thing added to this new firmware (especially for dune prime/base 3.0), the player is able to display the name of media files and folder one at a time on the Dune LED display. This make it easier to control your files without the need of a TV being on.  Would have liked it to be added to the iPhone/iPad app but maybe next time.
