Dune Prime 3.0 : System Memory
by admin on Apr.27, 2010, under Uncategorized
I was having problems playing my bluray original discs on the dune prime 3.0..
chris botti fail at opening sequance 14 seconds
kingdoms of heaven fail at opening sequance 14 seconds..
after doing some research it seems the prime 3.0 needs system storage for some bluray or applicaitons..
lukily i had two usb memory sticks .. one 4gb one 8gb..
i will make the 4gb a permanent feature of my prime 3.0
reading from this website http://dune-hd.com/firmware/usb_flash_drive/#services
i download to software there…
dune_service_init_system_storage.dsf
Initializes System Storage on an empty USB flash drive (or an already existing empty HDD partition), w/o reinstalling the firmware.
NOTE: Recommended for 3.0 models only. Not recommended for 1.0/2.0 models (using this service on 1.0/2.0 models will correctly initialize System Storage, but will not install Extra Applications; Extra Applications can only be installed by updating/reinstalling the firmware).
NOTE: The USB flash drive (or an existing HDD partition) intended to become System Storage must be empty (and this USB flash drive or HDD partition must be the only empty storage attached to the player). If it is not empty, delete all files from it or reformat it first (e.g. using the player built-in format function: choose USB flash drive or HDD partition in the main menu, press INFO RC button, choose "Format Partition"). Do not put this service file to the USB flash drive you want to become System Storage; use some other USB flash drive for storing this service file!
dune_service_clear_bluray_local_storage.dsf
Clears all Blu-ray Local Storage data, keeping all other data (if any) stored on System Storage.
NOTE: It is recommended to use this service if you encounter any problems with Blu-ray playback to restore correct player operation; sometimes, Blu-ray playback problems can be caused by inconsistent or damaged Blu-ray Local Storage data. If this does not help to eliminate the problems, you can also try to completely reformat System Storage (in some cases, this also may help).
i put both of the software to the 8gb memory stick (formated fat32)
run the dune_service_init_system_storage.dsf software to initialize and format the 4gb key… and the 4gb will become a permanent feature on the prime 3.0.. go to information icon and you will see system storage is activated
the restart and tried the chris botti bluray .. still fail…
plug back the 8 gb and run dune_service_clear_bluray_local_storage.dsf software to clear all memory ..
reboot the prime 3.0 .. and run chris botti bluray .. viola .. it work…
damn some learning curve using the dune.. too use to the dvico 6500a..
bang balls trying to get the stupid network shares to work when in the end it was just a simple thing to do……

Yangxi HDpro media Player review
by admin on Mar.02, 2010, under Reviews
They just keep on coming. Realtek chips media player is just flooding the market with so many players out there that the choices are endless.
What we as users to do with the endless choices. To me the decision on buying a realtek processor player will come to this few choices support, support and support. If the company does not have any inkling of coming out with new firmware or the dealer you buy from leaves you hanging after you bought the player than just go look for another.
So here we go again another media player to review.
