HDX BD-1, Dvico 6500A, A.C. Ryan POHD

 Do we have a new champion to dethrone the Dvico 6500A? A new champion has to play all Bluray rips, either ISO or BDMV without problems, Network playback without stuttering,among other simple things totally seamless playback of MKV and AVIs and all this for a affordable package to boot.  To many wannabe kings has been release and none have yet shown any potential yet to make me want to dump my DVICO 6500A.                (continue reading…)

With the onslaught of tons of media player coming out from China it can only mean us as a consumer will benefit from this.  But the consumer needs to know which are the crappy ones and which are the exceptional ones.  Today we be looking at the HiMedia HD300D Media Player. The media player uses a Realtek 1073 processor.

That was fast another beta firmware to try out.

Update after installation of firmware last night.

1. firmware screwed with usb connection .. very hard to detect external hard drives

2. bookmark doesn’t work

3. Cool feature media server detection .. going to add to test it out with the dvico www.twonkyvision.de

1) UPnP feature
- UPnP media server can be detected on pressing “Media Server” button
- UPnP may support high bitrate contents which cannot be supported by NFS
- Internet Radio can be supported if it is proxied or linked through UPnP server.
This was tested through Twonky Media server and TVersity server

** Issues on UPnP **
- Audio Playlist, Icon view and Thumbnail view are not supported
- Background music is not supported while playing slideshow
- Some internet radio may not be supported
- Repeat all and shuffle are not working
